The Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 sets out the basic rights, freedoms and responsibilities of all people in Victoria.
The Authority must aim to ensure that directions constitute the minimum interference with liberty, privacy or freedom of movement necessary to ensure the purposes of the conditions and are reasonably related to the gravity of the risk of committing further serious offences, or endangering people's safety.
We ensure our oversight of people on orders and the post sentence scheme is compliant with our obligations under the Charter.
